Recently, Mr. Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Nigeria's Dangote Group, met with Mr. Wang Jiwen, Chairman of Houpu Clean Energy Group Co., Ltd. (Houpu Group), in Beijing for talks. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on core topics including natural gas infrastructure development in Africa, cooperation in clean energy equipment, and regional energy transition initiatives.

Against the backdrop of a global energy structure accelerating its shift towards low-carbon solutions, the development and utilization of Africa's abundant natural gas resources are drawing increasing international attention. Industry experts point out that with the advancement of industrialization and urbanization across the continent, natural gas, as a crucial transitional clean energy source, shows vast potential for development in areas such as transportation, industrial fuel, and distributed energy. However, compared to its resource endowment, Africa's related infrastructure systems still require significant improvement.

During the talks, Chairman Wang Jiwen detailed Houpu Group's technological expertise, extensive engineering experience, and international project track record in the natural gas and hydrogen energy sectors. As a leading clean energy equipment manufacturer in China, Houpu Group possesses mature technological systems and numerous successful cases in full-industry-chain natural gas equipment manufacturing and Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Operation (EPC+O) . Mr. Wang stated that leveraging its (large-scale practical experience) in R&D and manufacturing of clean energy equipment, project engineering execution, and full-cycle operations management, Houpu Group is well-positioned to provide systematic and customized clean energy solutions for emerging overseas markets, particularly in Africa.

Mr. Aliko Dangote shared insights into the Dangote Group's continuous expansion of its energy sector portfolio in recent years. He noted that while Africa boasts abundant natural gas reserves, its infrastructure development is still in an accelerated phase, creating a strong need for mature technologies and reliable equipment systems. This introduction of expertise would significantly enhance regional energy efficiency and promote the optimization and upgrading of the local energy structure.

Both parties agreed that China and Africa possess strong complementarity in the clean energy sector. Deepening cooperation in natural gas infrastructure construction, equipment supply, and industrial synergy will not only help modernize Africa's energy system but also provide solid support for the region's sustainable development.

Following the talks, a brief gift exchange ceremony took place. Houpu Group presented Mr. Dangote with a piece of Sichuan embroidery, a representative treasure of traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage, symbolizing sincere cooperation and a shared vision for the future.

This high-level meeting fully demonstrates the positive trend of deepening collaboration between Chinese and African enterprises in the clean energy field. As Africa accelerates its energy structure adjustment, its natural gas infrastructure construction and related equipment markets may usher in new development opportunities, laying a solid foundation for subsequent substantive cooperation between Houpu Group and Dangote Group.
