This project is a hydrogen production unit for the 700,000 tons/year diesel hydrofining plant of China National Petroleum Corporation's Yumen Oilfield Company. Its purpose is to provide a stable and reliable source of high-purity hydrogen gas for the hydrogenation reaction. The project adopts the light hydrocarbon steam reforming process combined with pressure swing adsorption (PSA) purification technology, with a total hydrogen production capacity of 2×10⁴Nm³/h. The plant uses natural gas as the raw material, which undergoes desulfurization, reforming, and shift reactions to produce synthesis gas rich in hydrogen. Then, it is purified to a high-purity hydrogen gas of over 99.9% through an eight-tower PSA system. The designed hydrogen production capacity of the unit is 480,000 Nm³ of hydrogen per day, and the hydrogen recovery rate of the PSA unit exceeds 85%. The overall energy consumption of the plant is lower than the industry average. The on-site installation period is 8 months, and it adopts modular design and factory pre-assembly, significantly reducing the on-site construction time. The project was completed and put into operation in 2019, and has been running stably since then. It provides high-quality hydrogen gas for the hydrogenation unit of the refinery, effectively ensuring the upgrading of diesel product quality.
