500 Nm³/h Propylene Plant Methane Hydrogen Hydrogen Extraction Unit (Renovation)

This project is a renovation project for purifying hydrogen from the methane-hydrogen mixed gas produced by the propylene plant. The designed processing capacity is 500 Nm³/h, and the hydrogen content in the raw gas is approximately 40-50%. The PSA unit adopts a six-tower configuration, and the purity of the product hydrogen can reach over 99.5%.

This project is a retrofitting project for the propylene plant of Shenyang Paraffin Chemical Co., Ltd., aiming to recover hydrogen from the methane hydrogen tail gas and improve resource utilization. The designed processing capacity of the unit is 500 Nm³/h. It uses pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology to purify hydrogen from the methane hydrogen mixture produced by the propylene plant. The hydrogen content in the raw gas is approximately 40-50%, and the methane content is approximately 50-60%. After PSA purification, the purity of the product hydrogen can reach over 99.5%, meeting the hydrogen demand of other sections within the factory. The PSA unit is configured with six towers and has a raw gas buffer tank and a product gas buffer tank to ensure the smooth operation of the unit. The on-site construction period of the renovation project is only 2 months. The original factory buildings and infrastructure are fully utilized, and the new equipment is designed in a skid-mounted form to minimize the impact on the existing production. After the renovation project is put into operation, the annual recovered hydrogen volume exceeds 4 million Nm³, achieving effective utilization of the tail gas resources and reducing the factory's overall energy consumption.
